Deft response block 1.2 Beta has been released. This release includes a upgrade to the Venue task that allows it to be configured to use a bridged connection instead of peer to peer connections. This means clients will connect to a central media server rather than connecting directly with each other. The bridge or media server mixes the audio for the participants and returns a single stream to each client. It also can be used to stream video to the participants in the venue.

The most recent release 1.2.4 of the Deft response block is available and is compatible with the new current version 4.2 of Moodle. The update includes some bug fixes and improvements to the Venue task. In particular bridged venues are now supported natively in the official Moodle App. Venue participants can listen of talk in the venue without leaving the app. Users will still need to use a browser to present video. Peer connections are also only supported in a browser.
